One extended cruise around the Land Down Under has been cancelled following the tragic passing of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the ship on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been hiking on the tropical location with other travelers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the excursion for a pause. The liner left without her and went back later that day after the personnel discovered the lady was not present.

A large-scale search operation located her body the next day.

Officials are examining the tragedy, together with investigators and the official investigator.

Head of the voyage organizer announced that guests and personnel on the vessel were informed that the continuation of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and previous engine troubles".

Through an announcement, he added that travelers would be issued a total repayment, and said the operator was working "to arrange the return journeys of the individuals via private aircraft".

Authorities also published an revised announcement, and said they had "delivered a order to the Captain" banning any further travelers from entering the liner.
